The Ephemeral Gallery is an intimate and contemplative space. Part of the Gallery’s ethos is to invite artists to showcase the various stages of their process; for example, to use the drawings, photographs or maquettes etc (not necessarily excluding finished work) that have been produced and that have helped the artist to arrive at their message.

The Ephemeral Gallery

The Ephemeral Gallery is what its name describes, timeless, lucid and fluid; there in surreal intensity, and then gone like the wind.
On the practical level the gallery offers approximately 400 sq ft of exhibition space suitable for both 2D and 3D work and provides a blank canvas; an empty environment for the artist to express themselves. Being relatively small, low ceilinged with defused light, this creates its own atmosphere. Plinths can be provided.

It is a space that facilitates the artist to produce her or his own life for one week. So whoever shows takes full creative responsibility for the event. All aged artist are welcome.

For those who are inspired by natural rural Suffolk Landscape, the gallery in Saxmundham is within easy striking distance to the coast and neighboring towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh, and Halseworth, all with a strong artistic community. Saxmundham is on the main line routes to London, Lowestoft, Norwich.
